Second First Impressions: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Sally Thorne

When Madison Johnson, who is in her second year at Harvard Medical School, is assigned as the partner for a new intern all of her dreams come true. She's finally got her turn to shine and prove that she's every bit as good, if not better than the others, who came before her. It seems like everything is going to go smoothly, until they are paired up with Dr. Adam Whitlock--a handsome doctor that has been through way too many internships to count.

As I read the book, I found my thoughts of the story constantly changing. I’d start thinking about how it would all end, then realize that suddenly the story had taken a turn and I wasn’t sure if what was happening was going to be good or bad for anybody, let alone the protagonist.

The narrator does a great job driving the story forward, explaining why people may act a certain way, and describing her feelings. There are moments where she gets repetitive, but overall the narration was amazing. I found myself truly invested in this first-person novel that picks up right where it left off on the last chapter.

Second First Impressions: A Novel is a thought-provoking story that deals with modern day issues such as corruption and greed in the Latino community. With its powerful emotional impact, this literature award winner is an entirely different reading experience than what one might expect from a novel.

If you are in the mood for a book by Sally Thorne, this might be the perfect option. I was surprised at how much effort went into the production of this audiobook and I am glad to have listened to it.

I'm not sure what to think of Second First Impressions: A Novel, other than it was an interesting read. The story is broken up into several different narrators, which made keeping track of who was doing what a bit difficult--though I could never be certain when the narrator was in first person or third person perspective. I found that the story didn't stick with me much after the first few chapters, and I ended up not picking it back up after a month or so.
