Search the Dark is the first book in a trilogy of crime novels written by Charles Todd and narrated by Samuel Gillies. The main character, Peter Grant, is a recently retired Scotland Yard officer who took early retirement to focus on his family's agricultural holdings. The novel follows Peter as he searches for the identity of a shadowy serial killer preying on young girls in London while also investigating the death of his wife, who was found walking in a remote field with their farm dog.
"Search the Dark" is a WWII-era thriller about a British soldier who finds himself trapped in a Nazi concentration camp. The book is written in first person point of view and is broken down into two parts. Part one follows Private James Wainwright as he's taken from his home, travels to Holland and then Germany, where he meets the prisoner squadron known as A Squadron.
