SEAL Team Six: Hunt the Jackal Free Audiobook Download by Don Mann
The story begins with the killing of a high-ranking French military official in Paris. French President Charles DeGaulle is outraged by the murder, and orders his Prime Minister to send in six military operatives for a covert mission. The Prime Minister wants to avoid the appearance of involvement and requests that American operative Don Mann be sent in as well.
Ralph Pezzullo, an accomplished military actor and audiobook narrator, brings the book in true to life. He is able to make a complicated story very easy to understand and captivating.
In his book, author Don Mann calls for a new type of strategy for those who are at war with the United States: He introduces the idea of hunting terrorists. In this audio book, narrated by Ralph Pezzullo, you will be able to follow along as SEAL Team Six track and capture terrorist mastermind John Gotti. What makes this audiobook special is that it incorporates a wealth of newly declassified information from the US government and CIA files to help listeners understand exactly how they were able to catch their quarry.
The Jackal is a book about the hunt. But it's also about a love story that spans continents, continents of strife and passion, and finally continents of death.
I found it really hard listening to this book on Audible. Ralph's voice seemed too slow and his ability to read the text did not match the speed of the original book. The best part of this book was hearing the history of what happened in Libya and why the United States was involved in that conflict. Overall, it is a good story but I would recommend something else if you are looking for an audiobook
"Hunt the Jackal" is a book about one of the most famous and controversial events in modern history. In 1973, an American businessman was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists who wanted to use him as a bargaining chip for their release from Israeli prisons and the release of their comrades. The man they took, John Paul Getty III, had been the grandson of billionaire J. Paul Getty Sr., the richest man in America. His grandfather refused to pay his ransom and he was never seen again. "Hunt the Jackal" looks at what might have happened to Getty III during that time and draws some conclusions on what could have happened if his grandfather would have paid up.
