This was my first novel by this author and I loved every minute of it!

When she decided to write a book in the contemporary romance genre, her agent suggested that she should start with something simpler. Mary Kay decided to write about a heroine who finds herself stuck in a small town, living off food stamps and getting by as a freelance journalist.

Savannah Breeze is a captivating, fast paced novel about the twist and turns of life in Savannah. The protagonist, Carolina "Carrie" O'Brien, is a detective who must figure out all the mystery surrounding her mother's death. This book will make you laugh, cry, and cheer for this unlikely heroine to find justice.

The story begins with a 13-year-old girl named Wally who has always wanted to leave her sleepy, Southern town and move to New York. Her mother won't let her though because she doesn't want Wally to fall in love with the wrong person like she did.
