Sackett's Land Free Audiobook Download by Louis L'amour

This is the first book of Louis L'amour's Sackett series. It is set in a wild, lawless land on the US-Mexico border where not even honest men live without fear. The protagonist John Sackett has just been released from prison and is looking for something to take his mind off his troubles when he stumbles upon a town called Sacketts Land. With a mountain near the back edge of town and an arroyo that runs all around it, it seems like a good place to start over.

The historical book about the fictional Sackett family who own a ranch in Colorado for more than 100 years, this book is a classic Western. The audio version of the story is narrated by John Curless who does not only have the perfect voice to read the story but also knows how to make it entertaining.

Louis L'.amour is a classic American writer that has been around for decades. He is most famous for his Western novels, which were originally written in the 1940s and then turned into an audiobook series in 2009.

"The sun was going down. The shadows of the distant mountains crept out. Jackrabbits scuttled through the brush, lifting their long ears and looking back now and then at the riders."

John Curless is a narrator I have never heard before. He has a voice that I would listen to for hours on end. This is one of the best books so far from Louis L'amour, who wrote hundreds and hundreds of Western novels.

Rodger's Point is a new settlement on the border of Mexico and Texas. A rich man, who has recently been widowed by his wife, buys up all of the land that makes up this settlement. He then gives all of it to some friends who are going to assist him in building a town with many houses and traders and such. One day while they are out hunting, they hear a big crash in the distance. When they get back, they find the whole place gone and their friend missing. The richest man in Rodger's Point sets out to find his friend and his friend's family, but is not sure what he will do when he does.
