In a small house in the middle of nowhere, twelve-year- old Tommy is dealing with the loss of his father. Tommy's mother died when he was very young and has been slowly falling apart ever since. There is not much to do in such a rural area but Tommy enjoys fishing and playing music. After his mother dies, he finds the perfect way to escape into his imagination by writing songs about the world around him and trying to get them published. He begins to write more songs as he struggles with loneliness and boredom until one day a mysterious stranger knocks on their door asking for help finding her son who has been kidnapped by one of his songs.

Duke Fontaine has been dead for sixty years when he awakens in a New York City morgue with no idea how he got there. Torn between being on the run and trying to make sense of his situation, Fontaine must know the truth about who he is. With only one place to turn, he heads to the abandoned building where his wife died and starts digging through her stuff. There's a stack of letters that could answer all his questions--if only he could find them.

I never thought I would fall in love with a book so much that I would want to re-read it, but this is exactly what happened with Resurrecting Home.

For over three hundred years the inhabitants of Muir, a small town in upstate New York, have passed through life with little outside interference. But when a gas boom hits the area in the middle of their small-town lives, they must decide whether this is the time to diversify and pave their own path or stay as they always have -- detached, dependent on each other and the land surrounding them.

'Duke Fontaine' is struggling with a full-time job and in debt. He has three children to take care of, two teenagers and a young one. He needs to make some changes in his life but he doesn't know how. One day, his daughter leaves her mom's wedding and ends up in the hospital because she was hit by a car. The only way for his daughter to survive is for Duke to get into a local high school and be her fake dad for six months, which will give him the time he needs to go back to school and make some changes to his life.

"Resurrecting Home" is the story of a young man who learns he is from a dystopian society. The world has been destroyed by nuclear war and what's left in this dark future is controlling every human's home and every aspect of their life. When he discovers his family is actually from present day America, "Elliott (Topper) realizes that no matter how much he wants to stay on the surface, he can't forget where his roots are."
