She takes from people what they want, gaining them trust to ultimately make them destroy themselves. The story is told through the diary of Evangeline as she tries to figure what happened that led to her death.

The author of this book, Elizabeth Lim, is an interesting person. She has written a very twisted tale in the form as a journal entry. The story is about her and her twin sister traveling to see their parents who are performing in London for the summer. The story starts off with 'Magenta' being a dark-haired girl living in the country of 'truelove'. One day she wakes up and finds herself in a hospital room after she disappears from home. There she meets Dr. Nuri and they tell Magenta that she's been kidnapped because they want her twin sister back--because they need her heart to live even though they plan on taking Magenta's life anyways.
