Pros and Cons: A Short Story Free Audiobook Download by Lee Goldberg,Janet Evanovich
This is a short story but one that has endless possibilities. It's about a woman who's had enough of her husband's lies and cheating, she goes to the police with proof of this evidence and he disappears without a trace. This is when the letter from the mystery man comes in. He claims to be her husband who has been working for his boss for years and finally found time to return home. The letter takes off on an adventure until the woman catches up with him.
Life is not always like a novel, sometimes it's just too short. In this case, we can learn something from a short story. A short story by Lee Goldberg and Janet Evanovich tells about a girl who makes the mistake of breaking into her boyfriend's house in order to retrieve her high school yearbook on the day after graduation. She learns what she wants to know about herself and gives up on ever returning for the book. It's not until twenty-five years later that she once again tries to retrieve the book from her ex-boyfriend, who now owns the house where she broke in. The ending leaves us with one more lesson we could take away: "But I think maybe it was because I wanted him to remember me."
Introduction The story begins on a typical, summer day in Cape Cod. The narrator is at the beach with her son and husband when she gets a phone call from her best friend. After receiving the phone call, things take an unexpected turn. Her husband goes missing and so does her son. The family has to find them both before it's too late. The protagonist experiences various ups and downs throughout the short story as she tries to be strong for the ones that matter most. This might not seem like a pro or con, but it really is because the protagonist must go through many emotions while trying to find her way out of this situation.
Pros and Cons by Lee Goldberg is a short, fast-paced story about three people who are going through difficult times. It's an interesting take on the subject and it's worth checking out.
[Audiobook]: Scott Brick, narrator [The Pros: ] The author has a very engaging voice and the story is funny. There's a lot of varied humor in this short story that keeps you on your toes as you listen to it. I also enjoyed how there was some mystery involved. [The Cons: ] There's really no dialogue, so there's no connection with the characters. It leaves it feeling like a different medium rather than an audiobook.
