People of the Book: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Geraldine Brooks

People of the Book is the story of a town, a priest, and a book. The story tells the origins of this town from 1800 to present day, beginning with Jacob Marinus when he arrives in Wisconsin from Holland. He slowly builds his community, only for it to slowly disintegrate around him as a new religion takes hold.

This is the story of the Jews and their journey from Jerusalem to Persia by way of Egypt, told through the eyes of a translator. The narrator is an Englishwoman who has just been engaged to marry a Jewish scholar named Menahem and must learn Hebrew in order to translate his work.

Geraldine Brooks completed this novel in 2009, which is based on the true story of 12th-century Jewish scholar, Shabbetai Tzvi. This book is a great read and can be quite emotional for someone who has a connection to the subject matter. The narration by Edwina Wren does an excellent job and really adds to the overall experience.

[Wren] is an audacious narrator whose voice is strong, clear and unmistakeable. We are privy to the thoughts of a Tunisian woman named Fatima who falls in love with a Christian and converts to Christianity to marry him. She [Wren] layers her voice for the many characters that populate this story, focusing on the depth of their humanity at all times.

People of the Book is a novel that takes place in Medieval Europe after the fall of Rome. It tells the story of ten travelers who are facing uncertainty and fear on their journey to find sanctuary in this new world that they're entering. Authors write to tell stories and provide people with lessons that can help them live life better, so it's no surprise that Geraldine Brooks wrote a book about the Bible.

The story of the people of the book is a long and complex one, but Brooks does it justice in her narration. She portrays each character with perfectly imperfections and makes them believably come to life. All three audiobooks are masterpieces that will make you fall in love with the character's lives and enjoy every minute of their journey.
