Palm for Mrs. Pollifax Free Audiobook Download by Dorothy Gilman

I found a gem in the library and checked it out and started listening to it. It is interesting but not without flaws. I enjoyed how the author was able to subtly weave the plot with some of her famous characters from her other novels, but I did not enjoy how she would use them so much that my mind would drift off into another book or even another character just to keep up with what was happening.

Dorothy Gilman's detective story, "Palm for Mrs. Pollifax" is a classic from the Dorothy Gilman series of books. It is set in Paris during the winter of 1945, and centers on a woman who has to impersonate an American heiress as part of her job for an insurance company. However, when she starts hearing rumors about her target's true identity and gets caught in a web of dangerous intrigue, Mrs. Pollifax learns the importance of friendship and teamwork while struggling to remain herself.

Mrs. Pollifax is currently one of my favorite authors and I have been looking for a good book to read, and this one was recommended. It's about the 1930s, and the main character is a woman who has retired from being a spy for the OSS. It's interesting to hear Mrs. Pollifax's thoughts on different topics in the story.

"This was a pretty good book but I don't think we'll see any more of them in the series." - Mrs. Pollifax

This is unique audiobook download featuring an actress with a recognizable voice narrating the story of Mrs. Pollifax, a fictional CIA operative who travels around the world in search of spies. With her many talents and disguises, she often creates more trouble than solving any cases.

In Dorothy Gilman's 1960 novel, Palm for Mrs. Pollifax, protagonist Elizabeth Pollifax is a recently retired Foreign Service officer who undertakes an adventurous world tour in search of her husband's spy. Along the way, she finds herself in the midst of intrigue, romance and danger as she travels through Europe and Asia. In addition to the language barrier, Ms. Gilman doesn't use a lot of punctuation or paragraph breaks in her book which can turn off some readers.
