One of the most interesting and captivating books I've ever read, Palace of Treason is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a fast-paced and mysterious novel that leaves you guessing right until the end.

This book tells the story of a terrorist attack on the US Capitol during a congressional meeting. Follow the lives of several people who are caught up in the aftermath of this event and what it does to their personal and professional lives.

A travel writer is intent on documenting the final days of the Russian Empire. He arrives in St. Petersburg and is received by the Tsar's family, who take him on a tour of their palaces. Things go awry when he learns that they are not just living in luxury, but plotting to destroy the country as we know it.

The palace is a place where the king can live more like a king-in-exile, but Robert, the eight year old son of Princess Eleanor and Prince William's best friend, does not find it so. As a child he is learning the ways of royalty and the value of what once was - that there are rules, traditions and ceremonies that must be followed. There is also tension in the air as his father hides from his responsibilities and their kingdom falls into pieces.

The story takes place in a fictional country, which is loosely based on China. The kingdom of Gao is divided into two sections: the White Palace, ruled by the King, and the Black Palace, ruled by his sister. The young King, Satoi-Bo's mother was a member of the Black Palace and he believed that he is destined to be a member of the Black Palace too. His father died unexpectedly and at this time it was revealed that he had been poisoned with a slow-acting poison that will take 10 years to kill him.
