The audiobook is about a man in his forties who is a high school teacher and married. He spends most of his time at home with his wife and young daughter. When he hears that a serial killer has escaped from an institution near their small town, they plan on leaving town until they realize that the police are not doing anything to protect them. The serial killer starts attacking people across town and this puts the family in danger so they have no choice but to stay put until the killer is caught.

'David Chandler' narrates this book. This audiobook is about a sheriff who must rescue his daughter from vicious drug dealers and their ruthless leader.
