Nine Marks of a Healthy Church Audiobook Download by H. B. Charles,Mark Dever
A healthy church is one where every member's individual needs are met and where the church is able to grow in membership and influence.
The entire 39-minute talk is a powerful reminder of how large the influence of Christianity has been in shaping society.
[1] be generous in the distribution of your resources, [2] practice hospitality with the poor, [3] avoid legalism, [4] live by the gospel and practice it in a way that people see you do it, [5] be wise about giving advice to young people, [6] live out of love for God, [7] be careful with your speech and actions (avoid obscenity or crude speech), [8] celebrate what is good and true and beautiful in life, and finally [9] serve as an example.
There is a healthy Church in every city, town, and hamlet that is led by the people of God rather than a ministry. Jesus did not come to found a "ministry" but a "church"—a dwelling place for His presence among us. A church needs more than just good preaching; it needs more than just good music; it needs more than just good programs. But it does need some things:
A healthy church is a vibrant, growing, and thriving community of believers that has many marks of health. A healthy church involves people who are following Christ and loving one another in ways they would never think of doing outside the church. In order to be a healthy church, we need to make sure that we can help people come to know Christ, serve Him, and love others.
