John Creasy is a Navy SEAL and contractor now working as a CIA operative in Istanbul. He gets word that his father, who he hasn't seen since he was 8 years old, has been kidnapped in the hopes that John will come to the rescue. John's dad is no longer living with his mother and she thinks that he's still in New York, so this job will be easy for him. The problem is that John has put on 30 pounds of weight since his dad left 30 years ago and his mom doesn't recognize him when he shows up. Researching how to kidnap a person from a remote location leads to an exchange of letters between John and his dad where they learn about some of their past adventures together.

Nighthawk is a 2008 novel by Clive Cussler and Graham Brown. It is the second in the NUMA series, with Kurt Austin as protagonist. The story begins with a flotilla of ships crossing the equator on their way to the Galápagos Islands and finds them being attacked by a group of men who have taken over the US presidency through their ability to control weather.

Nighthawk is another great adventure by Clive Cussler. Nighthawk follows the adventures of four people who find themselves in deep trouble when their plane crashes. The main characters must figure out where they are and what to do without help. The book even has a surprise ending that will leave you full of excitement.

Nighthawk is an entertaining, adventure filled novel. The narrator does a good job of bringing the story to life and it is easy to get caught up in the action.
