My Sister's Child by Karen Clarke is a harrowing tale of child abuse and neglect. The girls become wards of the state and Jane finds out that she has a sister from her father's past life.

This is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The narration was perfect and the story was well-told. I loved how it was told from two different perspectives - one from Olivia, a young girl living in Cornwall, and one from her older sister who has moved away to London. This allowed me to gain a sense of both sides of the story as it progressed.

In this audiobook, the narrator discusses how his sister was forced by the state to give up her baby for adoption because of neglect. This story is told from the perspective of his sister who has now lost touch with her son.
