My Lady, My Lord Free Audiobook Download by Katharine Ashe

I adore the tale of Katharine Ashe's My Lord, My Lady. It is a simple yet poignant story of how two people find life and love following their own path.

This audiobook was absolutely captivating, so much so that I was unable to stop listening. From the very beginning until the end, my attention and focus were on this story of an unlikely love affair between a young girl and courtly French nobleman. Even though some characters had somewhat stereotypical roles, the narration itself kept me engaged with the story.

Lady of the manor, Lady Katherine Ashe, knows how to keep her estate running smoothly. She thrives on building a healthy and prosperous business where she employs a large staff and has no shortage of people passing through her door. There’s only one problem – she’s terrible at taking care of herself. Her husband is away for most of the year, and when he returns there’s always so much to do around their estate that Katherine doesn’t take good care of herself. When she feels well enough, she convinces him to take her abroad to see what life is like outside the country for once – and it changes everything for her

My Lady, My Lord is a beautifully written romance novel told from the perspective of Catrina. Catrina is an accomplished woman, skilled in business and strategy. She has been through her share of hardships and heartache but has never lost her confidence.

With echoes of Victor Hugo and George Eliot, this is a novel about love and the power of destiny. In a wildly imagined future, international borders are either nonexistent or untenable. Punters are human beings who are typically born in the country they will earn their living as prostitutes in. Katharine Ashe's unusual protagonist, Rachael Roza, is one of these punters, but she has dreams beyond her profession. This modern day fairy tale begins with the discovery that Rachael is an outsider to her own society.

In the dream, my lady was again walking down the hall. But this time she was not alone. One of her feet had come loose from her gown, and she was left to walk as best she could with only one sensible leg. She still walked with stately grace and didn't seem to notice that I'd spotted her bare foot, but when she turned the corner and disappeared from my sight, I realized that I couldn't see much at all anymore.
