The audiobook was narrated by Cassandra Campbell who did an amazing job of bringing this historical novel to life. I felt like I was listening to a clever woman talking about her past, present and future. The narrator's voice is versatile and it allowed me to feel like the characters had voices of their own.

My Dear Hamilton by Laura Kamoie, Stephanie Dray is an historical novel that takes place in the 18th century. It is narrated by Cassandra Campbell who doesn't fall into any category, but she's full of life and energy and has so much personality. She really brings the book to life and makes it an enjoyable read.

The book is written in a epistolary form. It is not told through the eyes of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, but rather through the letters and other letters she wrote to Aaron Burr, her husband. The story starts out with five-year-old Eliza being sent by her father to live with her aunt in Albany to avoid being outed as "a bastard mixed race daughter," and how this has affected her view on life, love, and family. It then moves into the relationship between Burr and his wife Elizabeth Patterson Murray, who died shortly after giving birth to their daughter Angelica. We learn that their marriage was not good from the beginning due to Elizabeth's infidelity during their honeymoon with an affair with Alexander Hamilton.

My Dear Hamilton is a sweeping love story set against the tumultuous backdrop of America's revolutionary War, in which Eliza Schuyler finds herself torn between her family's aristocratic roots and her husband's love for soldiers.

The audiobook was told by the heroine, Eliza Schuyler Hamilton and her voice was so amazingly beautiful and I wanted to hear more!

Eliza Schuyler Hamilton is the illegitimate daughter of Philip Schuyler and Elizabeth "Betsy" Van Alen, a woman from one of New York's most influential families. Eliza is also the sister of Angelica "Eliza" Schuyler and Maria "Maria Reynolds". The novel begins with the Schuyler sisters in the year 1809, telling their family stories on "spit-mopping" (a drinking game made out of spitting and drinking) night, a tradition started by their late father to keep them focused during evenings where they might be persuaded to participate in dangerous adventures.
