Murder in Tuscany: An unputdownable 1920s historical cozy mystery Audiobook Download by L.B. Hathaway
"Murder in Tuscany: An unputdownable 1920s historical cozy mystery," is an audiobook narrated by Clare Wille that is based on the 1920s cozy mystery novel, "Murder in Tuscany" by L.B. Hathaway. The novel follows Florence, a young woman who lands a position as the housekeeper for Lord Montague and his family--a forbidden love affair with Lord Montague himself ensues, and soon Florence is accused of theft and murder.
After living abroad for many years, Clare returns home to take care of her ailing mother only to find that the small European town she's come back to is rife with murder.
A middle aged woman, who stumbles upon a dead body in the woods, is suddenly thrust into a world of danger when she is arrested for murder. As the young woman is interrogated, it becomes apparent that there are other murders across Tuscany. Murder in Tuscany will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
Some of the most interesting characters in Murder in Tuscany are the townspeople. There's a family that seems to be distantly related to a character and they keep appearing unexpectedly and then later on, after things have been figured out, they don't appear at all (they may show up again, I can't remember). A woman is selling fake pearls, but she quickly becomes suspicious of everyone and also has an interesting back story. The protagonist also has a friend who is an aristocrat but he doesn't know anyone in the fictional town he's been living in for 70 years!
It's a day in Tuscany and the afternoon is almost gone. It's just after one of the most hectic days of Luca Rosselli's life. He has arrived from Milan to accept a position as the chef for his godfather, Gianfranco Poggioni. The only downside is that it means living with six women, who seem to be getting along just fine without him. The next morning, Luca wakes up to find himself dead and buried under the floorboards in his room where he spent the night before.
In Murder in Tuscany, America has never been so captivating. The heroine, Anne Ward, and her friend Lizzie travel to Italy to experience the excitement of Europe. While they are there, they encounter a young boy who can barely speak English and his mute father who refuses to tell them anything about their mysterious disappearance. Soon, the alluring men and women that surround them become entwined in their search for answers until the evening when an old man dies after being accused of murder. As Anne begins her journey to unravel the mystery behind this murder, she is met with danger at every turn as she is swept into a world of intrigue that will leave readers breathless.
