This is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. The narrator, Ruby Dee, is one of my absolute favorites and her narration made this book even more powerful than it already was. There was so much expression and emotion in every sentence that just made listening to this book all the more awesome.

This audiobook is one of the most difficult books I have had to listen to. The language is very dense, and it uses many cultural references that I am not familiar with. Zora Neale Hurston spends a lot of time explaining her characters cultural background and lifestyle, which made it hard for me to understand what was happening at first.
