Mount Weather Free Audiobook Download by David Achord
The good news is that the audiobook, narrated by Graham Halstead, is a quick read. The narrator does a great job of really getting into the head of the character when he's feeling stressed or scared, and it felt sometimes as if I was listening to someone else reading their own words instead of an author.
In the summer of 1962, America faced its most dangerous crisis when President Kennedy's plane crashed in the ocean. Thousands of people were left to wonder what happened when they heard and saw only silence on television. They never found out because in the aftermath, the US established a complex network of more than 200 underground military installations around Washington, DC designed to protect its citizens from nuclear destruction.
Mount Weather is a fictional bunker, a high-tech facility capable of surviving virtually any disaster and housing the entire population of the United States.
[Graham Halstead] was an unknown until his work as President Snow's Red-Headed Step Child on the show "The Hunger Games. He also worked on "Game of Thrones", and is soon to be seen in a film called "The Hard Place".
David Achord's Mount Weather is a fast-paced, engrossing thriller that will appeal to readers who enjoy such suspenseful titles as The Running Man and Predator.
Mount Weather is a place of refuge for President James K. Polk and his family during the American Civil War. It was built in 1833 with multi-storied walls and a 16,000 square foot underground factory. The entire community of 5,000 people has been there for 200 plus years living without electricity or running water.
