Mercy Street: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Jennifer Haigh

Mercy Street is one of the most powerful portrayals I have ever read of a society where the patriarchy has been overthrown. Jennifer Haigh takes us through the lives of various women and men as they struggle to create a society based on equality, compassion, and love.

Mercy Street is set in the Civil War era. It follows the story of Dr. Mary Phinney, a woman who lives in Philadelphia and works as a midwife. At the time, women are not allowed to practice medicine or midwifery; however, she takes it upon herself to give health care to underserved communities. Written during a time when women's rights and opinions were being suppressed, Mercy Street goes against typical gender roles and challenges society's expectations of what they believe should happen with women at that time period in history.

Mercy Street is a novel that takes place in the 1800s. The book is about an abolitionist woman and her journey to Boston, Massachusetts. At the time, many people thought it was wrong to practice mercy on African Americans who had been enslaved over the years.

A novel based on the historical events during the Civil War in 1862. The story takes us through the perspective of a 12 year old girl, Anna O'Connell, who immigrates to America with her father. This is an intense and gripping story to listen too!

Mercy Street tells the story of a young woman who is brought to the United States from Ireland, in 1850. She begins her service with the Sisters of Mercy in Baltimore and learns that many of their patients are enslaved African Americans. The young woman also meets a freedwoman who teaches her how to read and write, as well as other skills.

Jenny, a young woman in 1869, is desperate to escape from the life she has been forced into. Love of her life, John Brown, has been captured by mobs and Jenny sets out to find him. Along the way she meets up with Abigail Williams, a woman who takes pity on her and agrees to help. Will love be found on the streets of Antietam? You'll have to listen to find out! The audiobook narrator is Stacey Glemboski and she does an amazing job!
