Maxwell's Demon Free Audiobook Download by Steven Hall

Maxwell's Demon narrates the origin story of something called a demon, which is essentially an entity that can move objects from one place to another. It explains how Maxwell's Demon was first theorized in 1867 by Scottish mathematical physicist James Clerk Maxwell.

A ghost story based on an idea of a thought experiment in physics, the third action takes place in a world where there is a demon who acts as the first law of thermodynamics. In this world objects tend to move towards cold places and away from hot ones.

In this audiobook, the protagonist is a scientist who has been working on Maxwell's Demon trying to create a perpetual motion machine. He discovers that everything around him is running on energy and he starts to question if he can run his lab's machines on his own body. He eventually finds a way to build the machine and become part of history.

Maxwell's Demon is the story of an experiment gone wrong in which a scientist, Professor Maxwell, sets out to prove that there is no god. Maxwell's experiment leads to the proof that there has never been any god, but when his experiment is going on he uses a demon to help him operate the machine. The demon turns out to be just as flawed as the scientist and their efforts lead them nowhere except into insanity.

One of the fundamental principles of thermodynamics, Maxwell's Demon is a thought experiment. It refers to the perpetual motion machine made by an intelligent being, in which there are two boxes connected by a narrow tube. One box contains what we would consider a lot of energy and is heated at one end and cooled at the other. The second box is kept at a constant temperature with no heat exchange. The intelligent being can open the bellows in order to increase the flow of air between the two boxes and thereby increase their temperatures. This leads to work being done on both sides, thus creating a net gain.

Maxwell's Demon is a thought experiment by the physicist James Clerk Maxwell that describes an ideal trap door that opens and closes in response to molecules, allowing just one of the molecules or group of molecules passing through it to pass through each time.
