It was a long cold evening, but I had a different agenda. I had an early morning meeting with the governor of Minnesota and wanted to look better for it. So I headed up Highway 37 to Mill City, where a costume shop would have everything I needed: a mask, dark clothes, and gloves. The night seemed perfect for the job.

When a young woman goes missing, Lucas Davenport, the Minnesota BCA's most ubiquitous investigator, is brought in to find her. But what he doesn't know is that someone else has already killed the girl and left her body at the scene of one of Davenport's previous homicides. Now Davenport has to figure out which of those murders was committed by this masked killer who likes to take on his victims' identities.

John Sandford is an author of many renowned books, but his latest book is a mystery thriller. Masked Prey is a story about a kidnapping as well as the kidnapping of the idea behind a life insurance policy. The book is narrated by Richard Ferrone who has a nice voice to listen too and it's perfect for this fast-paced novel.
