Lying in Wait is a terrifying suspense novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. The novel begins with a woman waking up in a dark room with no idea who she is and where she is. As she begins to piece together her identity, her past starts haunting her and it doesn't take long for her to realize that there are people out there who want her dead - and they may have already found her.
Lying in Wait is the first book in a four part series. The main character, Lila, is on a mission to hunt down the man who raped her. While out on her mission, she meets and falls in love with another man along the way- Marcus. As they search for her rapist they also try to figure out if there could be more to their relationship than just sex.
Lying in Wait is set in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. A long-time family friend, who has ties to the local Native American community, is found dead on the property of a wealthy family and local detective Trish LaRue is called to investigate. LaRue quickly realizes that this murder is not just another crime, but part of much bigger picture.
Dan and his wife Theresa live in a peaceful rural community where the only danger is boredom. Then, one morning, Dan receives a call from police about an abandoned baby. His heart breaks for the helpless child and he decides to adopt her. As time goes on, he becomes convinced that someone in their town is using the baby as bait to lure victims into a crime ring. The question is who?
Lying in Wait is a compelling story told from the point of view of Jamie, an accountant who knew nothing about crime as he was growing up. When he gets married to his college sweetheart, Claire, things change. Claire starts to pluck up the courage to speak out about her childhood trauma: she has been stalked and abused by a man for many years after one horrific day when she was 14 and walked into the woods where he lived to escape him. One day Clair walks out of the woods and goes straight into a police station; her family ends up suing her for what happened that fateful day.
