Lovecraft Country: A Novel is about a young black man trying to escape the city and find out what happened to his grandfather. He comes across a crazy town with a whole lot of secrets and discovers that he has some weird abilities himself.

Lovecraft Country: A Novel is a novel by Matt Ruff that takes place in the fictional town of Pickathon, Massachusetts during the early 1970's. The protagonist and narrator is an African-American man named Wilbur Whateley who has a difficult upbringing, which makes him turn to alcohol for comfort. He then gets sober and finds himself on an adventure through various mythos-inspired locations with his white family, friends, and lovers to find his true self.

The book I have chosen is a horror novel, which is my favorite genre. The story of Lovecraft Country and the narrator Kevin Kenerly, who leads us through the events that take place.

A large truck thumps over the rough ground, kicking up a small storm of dust. The world is turning grey and fading in and out of view behind a veil of sweat, but I can still make out the dusty outline of Oz's face. He gapes at me with wide eyes, his mouth hanging open like he wants to say something.

In the small town of Castle Rock, Maine, a young girl is found dead. She has been missing for days, but no one came looking for her. Except for the slobbering creature who dragged her into a hole in the ground near an abandoned house next to an old newspaper office.

Lovecraft Country: A Novel is a hilarious and dark take on the author's lifelong love for H. P. Lovecraft, who created a fictional place called Lovecraft Country in Massachusetts. Even though it has been almost 100 years since his death, fans still love to look for evidence of his work everywhere they go, and the novel follows one journalist who finds himself embroiled in this search while trying to uncover a story that could change the world forever.
