This is a story about girls and the secrets that they keep between them. It is also a story about love and the ways that it can change you, that sometimes it's supposed to change you, but sometimes it just strikes you by surprise. We follow two different narrators, who both have similar backgrounds, through the ups and downs of their relationships with their partners.

The audiobook starts off with the protagonist, a Sikh girl named Preeti, explaining how she got her turban and why it's important to her. As she continues talking, we get a little insight into her life. Disappointed in love and in herself, Preeti spends most of her time either alone or with friends who don't seem to understand her.

In her debut novel, Annika Sharma presents a story of love and friendship that will make you laugh, cry, and sigh. The only complaint I would have with the audiobook is its length. For those who are not familiar with the Lebanese language, it can get hard to understand some of the dialogue.
