The narrator of Leopard at the Door, Katharine Lee Mcewan, did a wonderful job narrating this story. This novel is about a woman named Ursula who has been living in an apartment building and a leopard that has been stalking her. She is not able to leave because she is physically disabled and she doesn't have enough money to move and buy a new home.
Leo's leopard is a beautiful, intelligent creature. When he is injured, Leo takes him to the vet, but the vet cannot figure out what has happened to Leo and the leopard. The veterinarian then asks Leonardo da Vinci for help.
Jennifer McVeigh's novel, "Leopard at the Door," describes two powerful women, who each have their own skills and strengths in fighting back against the world. The first woman is Nicola Boulter, an architect who assumes that her own husband, Norman, is having an affair with one of his fellow colleagues, Callie. As she tries to figure out what to do about these suspicions and how to stop him, Nicola's thoughts are interrupted by a phone call from Frank, a childhood friend. Frank wants her help in finding his daughter who has gone missing on the way home from school. On top of this personal crisis of hers, Nicola must assist in the design for the home of a wealthy couple who have been involved in child kidnapping for years and plans for justice for those kidnapped children.
The horror is palpable, and the narrator does a fantastic job of making it that way. It's not just about the events happening in the story, but how McVeigh reads those events.
