The story of two unlikely friends, both of Hispanic descent, who meet one evening at a bookstore. The narrator and his new friend get on the topic of books and ultimately friendship; they also share their views on culture, particularly that of America. A lot of really deep discussions in this book.
"Indivisible" is a fantastically gripping read written by Daniel Aleman and is the first book in a five-book series. It's about a future world where a virus has wiped out most of humanity - leaving behind the elites, who are now at war with those left. The protagonist, David Jordan, is a "runner" for the rebels who have to move between cities and then, hopefully undetected, make their way through the mountains back to their destination. After an accident that loses him his leg and his best friend's life, David becomes more convinced than ever before that he must take his fight back to the elite and find out what really happened.
When seventeen-year-old Daniel is wrongly imprisoned, he emerges from the darkest day of his life with a newfound sense of purpose. He rededicates himself to protecting his family and making them proud - and in doing so, becomes a man not just known for his strong faith but also for his uncanny ability to inspire others. But when insurgents target Daniel's town, and terrorize those close to him, he must fight back against those who threaten both himself and humanity
When a woman from the future comes to warn him of Earth's impending destruction, a seemingly ordinary teenager must decide how far he is willing to go to save humanity. Chris has lived his entire life on the same farm and has never left. But when he begins experiencing strange visions and fits of rage, he is forced to consider if it's time for something new.
Everyone has a story, and that was his: His father had been killed by gang members when he was just a boy. He lived with his mother on the streets of East LA. Their home life was hard but their love for one another sustained them. The gangs were always looking for new recruits, and one day they recognized him as the natural leader of the street kids around him-and put a deal on the table that would change his life forever.
