It's harder for me to describe a book in a bullet point format than it is to read. This is one of those books that can be read in any order. It starts with the main character, a detective, who has lost his wife and daughter in an accident. Then there's a lot of back story about what happened leading up to the beginning of the story while it moves back and forth between the past and present. The main plot involves the detective trying to solve his daughter's murder while also figuring out why he was framed for her death.

Tom Picasso is a queer man in his thirties who just gets dumped and decide to start dating again. He has a habit of getting interested in people he barely knows and eventually things turn out well for him. When Tom starts going on dates, he realizes that he’s a very bad date. Tom feels like the whole game is rigged against him because everyone is playing this emotional chess game with everyone else and he’s just not good at it.

Icebreaker is a short science fiction story by A.L. Graziadei that’s told in a series of emails with the first one arriving in your inbox on the day you sign up for the university's Intergalactic_Freshman_Chemistry_Class.
