Hyde: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Craig Russell
The story is a riveting one that pulls listeners into the dark labyrinths of Hyde's mind and makes them question their perceptions of reality.
Craig Russell is a British writer and professor of English. This is his first novel. Russell wrote Hyde: A Novel as a response to the current climate of 'misogyny, fake news, and apocalyptic terror.' His aim was to write about how our lives are bound to become increasingly unstable because of globalism, pollution, and climate change.
[James Cosmo] narrates this novel about a man who is murdered and then reanimated. Russell follows the same protagonist through his life as he struggles with being alive again. The novel's philosophical discussion about what it means to be human and the nature of death make this audiobook an interesting listen for anyone looking for something light.
This is a very slow, full audiobook that is overall really good and different than others. I would recommend this book to people who are searching for a new audiobook of the same genre but more sophisticated.
Jack Hyde is a drifter who decides to try his luck in the big apple. He comes across as just another typical hustler, but this seemingly innocuous guy has vicious ambitions. As Jack tries to pull off his schemes, you quickly realize that he's an expert manipulator. Maybe even a psychopath.
Hyde is a story about the struggles one man goes through in life. To start off, he's in love with a woman who doesn't love him back and is suicidal over it which leads to his downward spiral. It also has some very dark moments that will keep you on your toes as to what may happen next.
