Hexes and Hemlines Free Audiobook Download by Juliet Blackwell

When Juliet Blackwell falls for a handsome man, she's certain she has her happily ever after - until she starts to hear voices in her head telling her to kill him. The voices are coming from a rare book called Hexes and Hemlines and Juliet is the only one who can hear the text inside the pages of this 18th century volume. Then, when a young boy goes missing, it sends Juliet's life into chaos as she struggles to decide what she really wants from life.

I love this audiobook! Juliet Blackwell has done a fantastic job of narrating this book. I really have such admiration for her voice and it's almost like she could be the protagonist of this story. Her voice is so easy to listen to and she makes reading Hexes and Hemlines a pleasure. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction novels, fantasy books, or supernatural stories.

Hexes and Hemlines is a narrated by Xe Sands, who has an authoritative but gentle voice and an American accent. The audiobook takes you from the dark, dreary beaches of Cornwall to the glamorous London fashion scene, even to Paris at one point. There are many owls in the story; the narrator mentions them often and calls them "my friends."

A new girl in town, Juliet Blackwell, is hopelessly romantic. With a history of loosing her heart to people who never loved her back, she finds solace by reading the story of Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

In this audiobook, the protagonist is a witch named Juliet who wants to make a fresh start in her new life. She moves to New York City and starts anew, but with a bunch of bad-tempered roommates, the stress of not getting paid on time, and too many bills piling up, she's losing hope. One night after drinking too much, she goes out for a walk — and falls into a mystical trap door that takes her on an adventure through time.

With [Xe Sands] narrating, you'll find Juliet and her friends to be a delightfully realistic bunch. When she's not making out with her cowboy-ish boyfriend, she's questioning the validity of witchcraft, cursing her mother for moving away and trying to keep up with her new best friend who is constantly in love with someone else. She is hilarious without being irreverent and at the same time manages to maintain a sense of self-awareness that makes her a sympathetic protagonist.
