This audiobook is the perfect thing to listen to when you're looking for something new to read or listen to. The story was a little hard for me to get into at first, but eventually I got drawn into it. The narrator does a great job and is very professional in his narration.

The entire book takes place around an alien artifact called "the Pillar" which has been carefully excavated by archaeologists on Earth who uncover its mysteries with each new layer uncovered from the Earth's surface.

Cryptum is a collection of ten stories and novellas, all set in the same world and revolving around the invention of the HALO device. The stories follow different characters who are introduced to the HALO device, how it works, and what they do with it.

If you're a fan of sci-fi, then you'll find this book to be a lot of fun. The plot deals with a post-apocalyptic future where Earth has been ravaged by wars and famine. A lone scientist takes his daughter on an ill-fated interstellar voyage to find the answer to our species' problems in the form of a pristine natural habitat, only for them to discover that everything may not be as it seems.
