Goodbye's a Witch Free Audiobook Download by Danielle Garrett
What starts out as a typical day at school for April, a teenage witch, quickly turns dark. It all begins when the school bully tells April that she will make her eat the black sludge from her lunch bag—a stew made of spoiled food scraps and garbage. Things start to get even darker when April's best friend suddenly switches allegiances and gets in with the bully. A classmate tells April that she is going to kill herself on Halloween after having attempted it once before. This information sets off a chain of events in which April has to find a way to defeat the bully, stop her friend from doing anything self-destructive and save her classmate's life
The year is 1747, and twenty-four-year-old Isabella has never seen the world beyond her little village in the English countryside. She's content with her life as a witch, until she meets Richard, a soldier on leave from fighting in the French and Indian War. Suddenly, Isabella knows that she must do something to escape the prison of her small town. After they marry, Richard leads her down the path of discovery that she never knew existed. But Fate is a fickle mistress...
'Amanda Ronconi' is the narrator of this audio book and she does a great job. She has an amazing voice that makes it easy to listen to even if you don't understand what's going on in the story. It would be nice if there were more female narrators for audiobooks because as a woman, I appreciate the narration coming from someone who sounds like me.
Danielle Garrett is a witch, but she doesn't like the magic. It was her mother who taught her how to do it, and then became so sick that she couldn't use it herself anymore. Witchcraft is responsibility - it's difficult and demanding - but she's done with magic now. After six years of being alone, Danielle gets a visit from what seems to be a ghost, who says he knows all about her family, and offers to help bring them back if she'll help him save his.
The protagonist of the story is a witch who has always been taught to never speak the word "goodbye." This advice seems to be in vain when she finds herself in a situation where she needs to say goodbye.
