Gone, Baby, Gone: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Dennis Lehane
The book 'Gone, Baby, Gone' is a very interesting story between three people. The main character Frank is abandoned by his wife, when she decides to take her two daughters and leave him. She had been struggling for some time with depression and did not want to deal with the life-long pain of living if she left. Although it was the hardest decision for her to make, there was always hope that Frank would find his wife again one day - a hope that he quickly put to rest as he remembered what really happened the night before his marriage.
When a little boy goes missing in Boston's North End, a disparate group of cops start searching for him. They find themselves in the middle of a neighbourhood full of twists and turns, where everyone seems to have something to hide. Lurking just beneath the surface is the sense that this isn't just any missing child's case--or that it's even the right one at all.
How one small decision can change everything. One day, Patrick Jane is a consultant specializing in the strange and the inexplicable. He's a former psychologist, his eyes sharp and his instincts finely honed. His latest case brings him to Boston where he has been hired by local police to help them find a missing baby boy. The case quickly goes from cold to hot when Jane learns that his client is not the only person looking for the boy: a family of four with dangerous connections is also involved. The clock is ticking with nowhere left to turn as Patrick desperately tries to save the child before time runs out.
"Gone, Baby, Gone" is a disturbing and riveting thriller that runs the gamut from Boston to New Orleans, back again, and then across the moral divide of human life. [Jonathan Davis] has narrated this best-selling novel that remains one of the most popular books in Lehane's oeuvre. The author's trademark suspenseful style is evident throughout.
It's been a decade since Patrick Kenzie's last case with Angela Gennaro, and the two of them have drifted apart. Patrick is a father now and struggling to make ends meet as a private investigator. After his wife is almost killed by one of Boston's most notorious criminals, he takes on the job of finding who hired the hitman to kill her. Patricia Kenzie, now a mother, is moving into politics after years of fighting for victims in courtrooms while doggedly seeking justice for those that can't speak up themselves – until she gets a call from Angela asking for help on one last case. With nothing else to lose, Patricia agrees and heads down south to help find their fugitive – but not before Patrick comes looking
"Gone, Baby, Gone" is a novel about the Boston Police Department (BPD) investigating a disappearance of a baby, implicating two different worlds. Following the abduction of Patrick Kenzie's daughter at 4 years old, he and his partner Angie Gennaro are tasked to find her before daybreak and without any clues. The story starts with their unsuccessful search for his missing daughter with no information from anyone who knows anything. It then changes to one year later when Patrick has started to accept that she's gone for good and is forced back into finding out what happened.
