Gods and Kings is a great Christian fiction novel that follows the adventures of three modern day characters: Mara, Hannah and a teenaged girl named Grace. The story begins in the middle of an Arab Spring protest when Grace's home is attacked. The girl manages to escape but her father is killed and with nowhere to go she turns to Mara for help. Mara takes the girl in, but their family life isn't all it's cracked up to be until they meet Hannah who has come because her parents are involved in this very same revolution.
Gods and Kings by Lynn Austin is a historical romance set in ancient Egypt. The book tells the story of Nefer Seti, the youngest son of the pharaoh Akhenaten and his beloved wife, Meritaten. When Akhenaten's 19 year old daughter and 10 year old son are taken from him by their estranged mother and other members of their family, Nefer Seti is left to find his own future as he becomes a priest. This audiobook download has narration by Suzanne Toren who does an excellent job with the prose.
