For a long time, I was really into the idea of a rebellion against the monarchy. It's been tempting to watch the story unfold from the perspective of a protagonist who might be able to do it. But in Glass Sword, that desire to see things from someone else's eyes is dashed almost immediately as we find ourselves in familiar territory: a society divided between ordinary people and those born with an ability that defines them.

When Mare Barrow discovers that she is one of four teens with unique abilities, she thought her life would finally take a turn for the better. She has been running away from her responsibilities since the day she was born, when she found out that her parents were actually assassins. Now they've abandoned her to find their next target, but Mare has learned more than just how to kill people in a fight; she's also learned how to channel her newfound power into something new - glass.

The Glass Sword is by far the best audiobook that I have heard in a while. It's the first book in the Red Queen series and it's a must-read. The narration was excellent, as well as the writing. The author definitely has her own style to her writing and it made me want to read more from her; especially since I am so excited for the next book in this series!

This book is not just an amazing book, it's also a great audio version that has been read by Amanda Dolan. This audiobook download is the perfect way to listen to this amazing novel.
