Friday Black Free Audiobook Download by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

Many people enjoy audiobooks. Audiobooks allow listeners to read the text while building their mental picture of the story. This makes them easy and more engaging to listen to. However, some audiobooks are hard to find or expensive. Thankfully, there are free audiobooks available for download on Audible, including Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah from NPR Books Podcasts.

Friday Black is a heart-wrenching and taut new novel of suspense. A family tragedy leads an NYPD police detective to interrogate his son, a teenager with learning disabilities who has been found alive-at least physically. What the boy has disclosed has led to the discovery of a gruesome murder: the pregnant wife of a powerful New York politician. Now there's nothing the detective can do to save her, but he gets revenge on those who killed her and stops the plot that would have otherwise meant her son's death as well.

On the surface, Friday Black is a graphic novel about a young woman discovering her sexuality. The narrator is called "Corey Allen," who, as the story unfolds, reveals to the reader that he's actually a white man named Corey and he has never met his father, which leads him to explore his own identity.

Your favorite Weekend Warrior has returned for another much-anticipated episode of Friday Black! For this week's episode, we're joined by Corey Allen and Carra Patterson to talk about their love for the audiobook.

On Friday, in a world without hope, a young man is shot and killed by the police. His death ignites a fire storm of rage and rebellion among the African-American community. The rioters decide to take matters into their own hands by burning down the white-owned businesses on the streets and looting them for what they can. An arsonist joins the mob of looters, but soon realizes that this is not how he was raised to live his life. He takes it upon himself to teach people about how wrong they are in burning these businesses down.

Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah tells the story of a young woman named S, who is struggling to pursue her dreams while working at a fast food restaurant in a small town.
