Free Fire Free Audiobook Download by C. J. Box

This story is about a group of four ex-soldiers who are hiding out at their remote cabin in the Montana woods when they witness a murder from their doorstep. The group agrees that they need to kill the criminal, but one of them has an ulterior motive--killing the guy will give them enough money to start over somewhere else. What makes this story so compelling is that it is told from multiple perspectives through each character's unique voice, making it both suspenseful and thought-provoking.

It's been a long time since I've read or listened to anything by C. J. Box, but I loved this book! It took me right back to being 18 and feeling like the world would be better off if we all could just go ahead and die. "Free Fire" is a quick, hard-hitting story that makes you think twice about what's going on in the world around you.

This coming-of-age novel follows Jake Roenfeld, an eighteen-year-old farm boy in his first year of college. When a group of teenage boys drive up to the family's farm one summer night and provoke him with a few racial slurs, Jake is forced to defend himself. With only a $20 hunting rifle in his hand and the skills he's learned from hunting pheasants, Jake becomes an accidental hero.

“JJ, give me some of your TEC-9s.” "I will do no such thing. These are my babies." "You'll never need them." "They're not for you. They're for the freeeeeeeide!"

Book Description: "Free Fire is a riveting and thrilling tale of guns, intrigue, and revenge. It tells the story of Joe Pickett, a game warden in Wyoming who is called upon to investigate the suspicious death of a local rancher's son. The investigation leads Joe deep into the backcountry wilderness where he uncovers more than he had bargained for--a plot involving terrorist activities, potential Russian involvement, and plans to exploit natural resources that may be worth billions."
