Fragments of the Lost Free Audiobook Download by Megan Miranda
For thirteen-year-old Clare, life was a series of fragments, like pieces of shattered glass. She lost her mother in childbirth when Clare was just five; she barely remembers her father, who passed six years later. And then there are the other fragments: bad grades and bullying, the sudden death of her best friend at the hands of a drunken driver on the way to school, and what feels like an endless string of broken hearts--first with Connor and then with Jesse. Suddenly, everything changes when she meets Octavian.
Fragments of the Lost was a great book that I enjoyed listening to. The book follows three people in different parts of the world and their experiences after a devastating event occurred on Earth, causing an alien invasion. The aliens are called Gnats because they eat away at anything living, so humans are left with no food and there is nothing to for them to do but die. Her three characters go through a lot of grief and learn that the only way to survive is by following each other's footsteps, or by finding relief from their own grief while still being able to help others who may be facing it too.
Fragments of the Lost is about a group of people who are part of an exclusive genetic study. They are all very susceptible to mental instability and it is up to them to try and figure out what's causing this. The story unfolds as they explore their family history and their lives in general.
In the year 2020, after a terrorist attack killed millions of people, the country was ripped apart. However, there are still those who are not willing to give up on humanity--they have found themselves in a place known as Safe Haven, where they live together and try to rebuild society. In the book, 15-year-old Hope must find a way to survive in this section of town while also trying to figure out what is going on with her family and friends.
A suspenseful, action-packed novel about a girl who doesn't know if she wants to escape her life as a battered wife of an abusive husband, or finally be free of the pain that fills her every day.
