There is a lot of detail involved in describing how war and violence affect people, but Jacobsen does not over-share personal information. Her writing is informative without being overly sentimental. Overall, this was an interesting and engaging experience that I would recommend for anyone interested in learning more about the wars in the Middle East or military conflicts more generally.
