First Platoon: A Story of Modern War in the Age of Identity Dominance Free Audiobook Download by Annie Jacobsen

First Platoon is an excellent example of modern war covering the battles in Iraq and Syria. The book begins with a personal account of the time Jacobson's embedded with a US Army unit in Iraq. It then moves on to share stories of other soldiers during their tour, with each chapter offering a unique perspective on the contemporary conflicts. There is a lot of detail involved in describing how war and violence affect people, but Jacobsen does not over-share personal information. Her writing is informative without being overly sentimental. Overall, this was an interesting and engaging experience that I would recommend for anyone interested in learning more about the wars in the Middle East or military conflicts more generally.

"Eugenics" was first coined in 1883 and the term was expanded upon by Thomas H. Huxley, who introduced the concept of "social eugenics". The idea was then widely popularized by Margaret Sanger, founder and president of Planned Parenthood Federation, who argued that it is not "sufficient to confine [sterilization] to the feeble-minded, the insane, or criminals", but rather needed to be extended to "those of irresponsible and low instincts".

In her new book, "First Platoon: A Story of Modern War in the Age of Identity Dominance", Annie Jacobsen takes readers on an incredible journey that begins with a group of American U-2 pilots over Cuba. For those who are not familiar with the men and women who fly these planes, their stories are fascinating and harrowing on its own. This book is about the modern war that is being played out in our own time as we fight for our sense of identity against what is quickly becoming a global enemy.

This book is a story of war in the age of identity dominance. It tells the story of two soldiers, Will and Dan who are part of a platoon in Iraq in 2005. They witness their own personal struggles as well as the struggle for Iraq as Saddam Hussein falls to a coalition led by America.

The podcast is a story of modern war told from the perspective of a company commander in the 101st Airborne Division. The author Annie Jacobsen has written an award-winning book on the same topic and narrated it herself. She offers listeners a first-hand account of what it's like to be at work in today's military as she takes us through her experience as a soldier, author, and now podcaster.

In This War, we are not animals. We are corporations. And as corporations we're not products of our genes or the world around us. We're products of a business plan and an investment strategy perfected over centuries by our predecessors. The truth is that everyone who buys into this war has made their choice already, each one of us with a different price for the future in mind: We'll be safe if we kill them all now or too many will die tomorrow.
