Eligible: A modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice Free Audiobook Download by Curtis Sittenfeld
This is a modern retelling of the story Pride and Prejudice. It was written by Curtis Sittenfeld and narrated by the wonderful Cassandra Campbell. This is not your typical listen, it is a very close listen with talking and all. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of listening.
"I'm not trying to compare this with the original text," says Cassandra Campbell, narrator of author Curtis Sittenfeld's modern retelling.
For the modern woman, there's no such thing as "not good enough." You are only ever too good to be true.
Eligible tells the story of Jane, an unmarried, 30-something woman in Cincinnati who falls for her wealthy neighbour. She adores him and follows him to Manhattan where he lives, hoping to marry him. Eligible has a lot of similarities to Pride and Prejudice but there are some changes as well.
Eligible is the story of Elizabeth Bennet, a 26-year-old woman who has no idea what to do with herself with her life. She's just graduated from college and feels like she's living in the wrong time period. The book follows Elizabeth as she tries to navigate her world of modern dating with mostly men that are much more attractive than her.
