Dick Francis's Damage is a historical crime novel written by the British author Dick Francis, and the eleventh novel in the Inspector Morse series. The story takes place in London in 1962 during the Cold War and follows Lewis Pratley, a young copper who has just been transferred from Cambridge to Scotland Yard. As he explores his new city, Lewis finds himself caught up in a murder case that may ultimately lead to high-level corruption.
Dick Francis is one of the world's most successful mystery writers, known for his novels about jockey Frankie Dettori and British detective Charlie Resnick. In this audiobook, Dick's son Felix presents a collection of stories from his father as well as five original tales of suspense featuring Charlie. Michael Neilson narrates the audiobook so that listeners get an intimate view into Dick's life.
The audiobook is narrated by the author's son, Michael Neilson. He does a fantastic job of narrating, again using Dick Francis's voice. I'm a huge fan of audiobooks and this was one my favorites to listen to. It's not that it takes place in Africa but it's just so easy to imagine being there with the narrator's voice and all the beautiful descriptions of Africa.
