Dial A for Aunties Free Audiobook Download by Jesse Q. Sutanto
‘Risa Mei’ is the best narrator I’ve ever heard. She has a beautiful, soothing voice and doesn’t overdo it with accents or other vocal effects. The audiobook is short and sweet with just the right amount of humor to make you laugh out loud, at least in the car.
Jesse Sutanto's memoir about his childhood in Indonesia is a story of living through the trauma and violence that surrounded him. As he grows older, he struggles with being separated from his family and feels lonely at school as people tease him. He writes this book to help young kids who are experiencing these same emotions.
Risa Mei is a 20-something caseworker who has a knack for helping her loved ones when they need it most. Living in Los Angeles, she's been able to help her nieces and nephews as they struggle through life. With their parents busy working, she has become the figurehead of the family, which is how she found herself getting involved with her supervisor's relationship.
Jesse Q. Sutanto narrates the audiobook called 'Dial A for Aunties'. This audiobook is about a woman in her 30's who goes to visit her eccentric aunt. Over the course of the story, she learns a lot about herself and appreciates what she has in life.
Dial A for Aunties follows the story of a young girl named Yumi who is abandoned by her parents. After she ends up in a building with an old woman, she quickly learns that the woman is actually a witch who uses magic. So in order to survive and escape this building, Yumi must dial "A" on her cell phone, which corresponds to different areas inside the building they are both in.
The story starts with a young woman who is going through a rough time. Her mom's in jail, she's been disowned by her father, and she needs to tell somebody about what happened. The protagonist literally dials up Aunties. Aunties take her on a long ride that eventually leads to self-discovery (with a little help from the magical phone booth).
