In Deadly Trail, Jack Garrett is a young ranger in the Apache wilderness who was trying to track down a poacher named Blackstone. When he sees Blackstone steal into a cabin that he believes is abandoned, without considering the consequences, Jack decides to take him out. He comes across an old man in the middle of nowhere and shoots him dead on his first try.

The protagonist of this story is a private detective named Benedict Farley. He is hired to find out who killed the wife of an extremely wealthy man in a small town about 7 hours away from his own home. One night, he finds the killer and shoots him dead but didn't do it in self-defense, as he had thought he would.

Jack Garrett is a drifter. He travels across the country with no particular purpose, when he comes across an abandoned trail near a small town. In walking along the path to explore, he realizes that the trail is old and follows a ferry route. The trail leads him to a long abandoned building where he finds none other than himself in an action figure display case.

Deadly Trail is a very suspenseful and action-packed science fiction adventure story. The audiobook narration of Deadly Trail is by Jack Garrett, who does an absolutely wonderful job with the voices, noises, and characterizations. In Deadly Trail, there are all sorts of fantastic sci-fi elements, including time travel and the dangers of time paradoxes. There is also a lot of peril, mystery, intrigue and suspense throughout this book. It's one of my favorite books from Johnstone's Tails you Wag short stories collection.

Deadly Trail is a thrilling mystery that has plenty of suspense and excitement with a bit of romance thrown in. Jack Garrett narrates the audiobook with his wonderful voice that captures the listeners attention from the very first sentence.

Jack Garrett narrates this audiobook and does a great job of keeping the suspense up throughout. This is an intense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you get to know the numerous characters.
