Cut You Dead is the fourth in A. J. Waines' Samantha Willerby mystery series, and it's a good one. When I first began reading this book, I was a little bit put off by the slow beginning. However, as it continued on, I found myself actually enjoying the story.

After the death of his wife, Sam Willerby has decided to quit his job as a detective and focus on raising his young son. But when one of his old cases reemerges with a lead that could save him from serious prison time, he's forced to get back up from the proverbial ashes. With the help of his best friend and estranged former partner, Johnny Licht, he tries to track down new leads about the murder case and hopefully finish it once and for all.
