I often felt frustrated and angry at Ariana for how she thinks about people who aren't Muslim. She's quick to expel herself from family, friends and other relationships because she feels like they're not true Muslims like her. As someone who is half-Muslim and half-Christian, I felt connected to these feelings of dissociation that Ariana goes through in this book.
