Conjure Women: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Afia Atakora
'A conjure woman is a spiritual healer who uses her powers from the spirit world to heal the body, mind, and soul of those inflicted with sickness - both physical and mental.
Conjure Women: A Novel by Afia Atakora is the story of three sisters and the dynamics of their relationships with one another, the power they have over each other in different times of their lives, and how they ultimately shape themselves into powerful women. The audiobook is narrated by Adenrele Ojo (Kathleen Collins) who does a great job with her performance. I also liked the music soundtrack on-site that was fitting for a book about this time period.
"This is old fashioned, intensely erotic magical realism. It's a story that would feel right at home in a Caribbean warehouse or on the streets of New York City or Paris. This is not your grandmother's fantasy world."
Adenrele Ojo has narrated a great audiobook called Conjure Women. The audiobook is about the female spirit conjure, an ancient practice that influences major facets of African culture.
In the aftermath of an apocalyptic event, a young woman, Ade (aka "Ogbanje"), takes refuge in an abandoned building. She encounters a mysterious figure who has set traps throughout the building. As she follows this man through the dark hallways, she learns that her world is about to change forever.
