Congo Free Audiobook Download by Michael Crichton

The novel is about the adventures of a man and his son and their quest to find an abandoned treasure in the jungles of central Africa.

This is an amazing audiobook by, Michael Crichton. I really enjoyed the story and the narrator, Julia Whelan, did a great job narrating it. This is not one of my favorite books but this audiobook was very interesting and enjoyable.

The story is set in the Congo during the early 1900's. The story begins with a Belgian trading company attempting to exploit the natural resources of the Congo and extract rubber from the rain forest in order to make products for everyday life. However, their methods are very damaging to the people of the Congo and will ultimately lead to civil war.

'In the Congo, you may die for a human or for an animal of any kind...for an ivory tusk, for the right to a piece of land, for the right to an elephant, for the right to water.'

In 'Congo', the narrator, a bio-mass specialist, is sent by her large company to study and develop the rare and potentially dangerous animal. She becomes dangerously exposed to a virus, which is transmitted to other animals and humans in turn. It is only through the help of her assistant that she manages to survive and avoid becoming infected herself.

Listen to Michael Crichton's classic book 'Congo' with a different narration. The story is set in the Congo Free State of 1885 and revolves around the hunt for ivory. This audiobook takes you through every harrowing moment of this adventure and is narrated by Julia Whelan who brings it to life.
