The story revolves around an inventor, Tessa Gray, who is forced to go on the run after she discovers her father was killed by the inventor's own creation. In the novel, Tessa finds herself being pulled into a world of intrigue after learning that she is one of many descendants of a clockwork angel.
Cassandra Clare's newest novel, Clockwork Angel, follows a young woman trying to find her place in the universe. The best way to do it is to join the Shadowhunters of New York and help them fight demons who have taken over New York City and are destroying everything in their path. What makes this particular story different than many other fantasy novels is that it tackles the subjects of slavery and racism.
This novel is set in an alternate reality where the plague has wiped out almost every human. Those that survive live in the world of the "Clockwork" - humans who have mechanical hearts, lungs and other body parts. The characters of Clockwork Angel are divided into those with "natural" bodies, and those with mechanical bodies. There are a wide range of differences that exist between these two worlds. The main character is Tessa Gray, a girl who can see the future and must flee from her family as they try to kill her because she has both natural and mechanical bodyparts.

Cassandra Clare's thrilling new fantasy novel, Clockwork Angel, has recently been released. This is the second book in the Infernal Devices trilogy and follows Tessa Gray as she learns to fight demons in her quest to save humanity. Jennifer Ehle narrates this audiobook, with talented voice actors such as Will Patton in the role of Jemmye. Other actors include Michael Pare, Stefan Rudnicki, and Simon Vance.
Cassandra Clare has done something pretty incredible with her new book 'Clockwork Angel': she has taken a story that could have been incredibly disappointing and turned it into one of the best books I've ever read. It's the first in a trilogy, but telling a magnificent story by itself.
