[In the book,] Christmas Bliss, Mary Kay Andrews tells a story of two women in their late twenties who are best friends and now decide to 'retire'. They decide to set up their own business in the city they live in. This is where the narrator starts her narration with a voice that is fresh and full of warmth. The narrator never sounds detached or anything less than enthusiastic but she also doesn't sound like she's trying too hard.

Christmas Bliss by Mary Kay Andrews is one of the funniest Christmas books I have ever read, but it's also got some heart too. It's a fun novel that takes place in North Carolina during the holidays. There is always a big Christmas party at the house of wealthy Donna and Tom Blackwell. One year, when little Lucy goes to great lengths to save her grandmother from being fired from her job, she ends up getting custody of her for the rest of the holidays. Lucy has been staying in her grandmother's old room and it's not until she starts to help prepare for the big Christmas party that she realizes there really is something special about this house. When our main character finds out about TOM, Donna's son who died years ago, all of the problems start to melt away as Lucy starts making changes to make this house into one she can love just like her grandma did when she was little.

Christmas Bliss is a romantic Christmas story that takes place in a small town in the middle of Nebraska. The novel revolves around Lily, who is trying to make Christmas happen at her family's small inn. However, when Lily finds an old antique desk, she realizes that it has been commissioned with a secret and impossible task.

Mary Kay Andrews is an excellent author of cozy, yet suspenseful holiday stories. Christmas Bliss: A Novel is one of her most memorable books that has a happy ending. Her story begins with the protagonist, Charlotte, being driven to New York City from Arizona after losing her job because of the recession. She arrives in New York City and while waiting for a bus to take her back home, she meets a woman who offers to have her live in her apartment until she can find work. Charlotte agrees and gives up on getting back home just so that she can start fresh in New York City.
